Technologies of Pain – Animals and Anatomical Art

April 29th, 7 PM
Holy Oak, 1241 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON

On April 29th, KAPSULA Magazine hosts an evening of conversation and ideas related to the publication’s current monthly theme: ANIMALITY. KAPSULA is thrilled to announce local scholar Amy Ratelle as guest speaker and round-table facilitator for the event, to be held in the magazine’s base city of Toronto at the Holy Oak café.

In her presentation Technologies of Pain – Animals and Anatomical Art, Ratelle will share her research on the history of medical uses of animals from antiquity to present, offering insight around the ethics of making art with living beings. A guided roundtable will follow the talk for pre-registered participants. Spaces for the roundtable are limited and may be reserved through Eventbrite.
